our story
Generations of Difference
For over 100 years, our family has cared for the land, livestock, and natural resources that make up the Blackfoot Valley, one of Montana's most treasured landscapes. Ranching is more than our livelihood—it's our way of life (as cliche as that sounds). Every decision we make is guided by the understanding that we are caretakers of both the cattle we raise and the land that sustains them. Like many ranchers, we traditionally sold the majority of our calves into the conventional beef supply chain. While we were proud of the cattle we produced, we were frustrated that our friends and family were not receiving the same product in the major stores available to them. From there, the desire to empower consumers to buy local beef from a rancher that they know and trust was born. Today, we are proud to offer families the opportunity to purchase beef directly from the ranch where it was born, raised and cared for, providing transparency, quality, and confidence in every meal.
our why
Taking Back the Control of our Food Chain
For generations, ranchers have raised cattle and then sent them into a system where consumers often have little visibility into how their beef was produced. We wanted to change that. By selling directly to families, we can:
- Provide complete transparency about how our cattle are raised.
- Offer beef we confidently feed our own family.
- Strengthen the connection between consumers and the ranchers who produce their food.
- Give customers the opportunity to support responsible land stewardship and family agriculture.
When you purchase beef from B Bar Diamond, you know exactly where it came from and the family who raised it.
Native, Forage-Based Diet
Our cattle spend the majority of their lives grazing native grasses across mountain ranges, pastures, fields and hay produced right here on our ranch.
Traceable From Birth
Unlike grocery store beef that often passes through multiple operations and processing facilities, our beef comes directly from cattle raised by our family.
Low-Stress Environment
Our cattle are raised in large pastures and mountain environments where they can naturally graze and roam.
Light Grain Finish
During the final 60-80 days, our cattle receive a carefully managed grain finish that enhances marbling, tenderness, and flavor while maintaining the benefits of a forage-based upbringing. In the future of our growing beef program, we hope to offer a fully grass finished product as well.
Raised for our Family, and Yours
We feed this same beef to our children, grandchildren, friends, and neighbors. We believe that matters.

Stewardship for Future Generations
healthy cattle begins with healthy land
For five generations, our family has worked to conserve and improve the natural resources entrusted to us in Montana's Blackfoot Valley.
Through responsible grazing practices, habitat conservation, water resource management, and long-term stewardship, we strive to leave the land better than we found it.
Our commitment isn't measured in years—it's measured in generations.
